Lets Go Cars A electric guitar pickup is basically similar to a powerful microphone coil. For many years, energetic microphones have been sent with the voice coil mounted on the primary of the microphone's transformer, and perhaps not referenced to soil (‘floating'). The microphone's situation is normally linked to the cable shield, that is linked to the mike amplifier's surface (see Rane's site for more discussion).
By and big, powerful microphones are very quiet units consequently of the mix of transformer isolation and balanced, hanging indication lines during, along with shielded, humbucking coils.
So why not guitars? Instruments are notoriously plagued by noise. Humbucking pickups are merely a partial (though essential!) solution. The obvious solution would be to float the guitar pickup to a balanced production, being a microphone. A similar idea was published that 2001 patent request such as Lets Go Cars?
